Just a quick email to let you know the ring has arrived. It’s beautiful and I’m sure my wife will think the same when I give it to her.
Thank you very much once again for the service received. As always a pleasure to purchase from the London Victorian Ring Company.

Antique Style Engagement Rings and Diamond Rings
The jewellery styles of the past have always inspired future generations. Jewellery designers of the Art Deco, Edwardian and Victorian eras sought to marry the remarkable beauty of historical designs with the unique skills of their age. This tradition is reflected in our exclusive range of antique style rings.
Victorian jewellers were greatly influenced by the exciting treasures uncovered by archeological digs in Egypt, Greece and Asia Minor. Antique reproduction jewellery was widely admired, and purchased by the Victorians, due to its fascinating origins and exquisite craftsmanship. During the reign of Queen Victoria, the styles of ancient Rome, medieval Europe and eighteenth-century France also became the template for a succession of jewellery revivals.
Queen Victoria chose the design of a gold snake coiling around itself for her engagement ring. This ancient Roman symbol of eternal love was one of the many designs the Victorians used in their antique reproduction jewellery. Diamond and precious gemstone rings gained popularity during Victorian times due to the discovery of new diamond and gem stone mines.
Antique Style Gold Jewellery
Gold dominated the precious metals of the Victorian era. Gold was found in large deposits both in California (1848) and Australia (1851). The sudden abundance of this precious metal helped to increase the popularity of gold rings and other jewellery.

Platinum Engagement Rings and Jewellery
Platinum was mined along with gold, but the platinum was discarded as it was so hard to melt. Gradually methods were found to extract the platinum and work with it in making platinum jewellery. As well as platinum in Colombia, additional platinum discoveries were made in the Ural Mountains (1823), the Transvaal (1924) and Canada in the early 20th century.
