We believe in helping you find the perfect jewellery for your needs.
While we don’t require a minimum budget for our bespoke engagement rings and wedding bands, most bespoke pieces start at £1,500.
The final cost may vary depending on the gemstones you choose and the craftsmanship involved.
Many people often assume that a bespoke ring will carry a much higher price tag, yet this isn’t always true.
In our experience, the cost difference between bespoke and ready to wear rings often depends more on the gemstones selected rather than the design process itself. Personalising a piece can allow you to achieve a unique ring without a drastic increase in cost, making bespoke design an accessible option for creating something distinctive within your budget.

How to ensure the correct ring size when the ring is a surprise
If you are giving a ring as a complete surprise, there is no exact way to guess the correct size.
Here are some helpful suggestions:
Compare her engagement ring finger with your own fingers so that you have a form of comparison for size.
See if there are any rings that she wears on the same finger that can be used to obtain a guide to her size. You can then visit us and we can help you gauge the correct size from your partner’s ring.
Alternatively, you could visit a local jeweller with your partner and kindly ask them for the UK ring size. If appropriate, ask her friends and family.
Working out your own ring size
It is always best to visit a local jeweller to measure your ring size.
You can visit us so we can check your ring size at an appointment.
It is worth noting the size of your fingers can change throughout the day and can often be slightly larger towards the end of day. It is advisable to measure your ring size at the beginning of the day, if possible, or when you are not too warm.
The perfect fit
Your ring should sit snugly on the finger. Ideally your ring should not spin around the finger. It is common to lightly push a ring over the knuckle and for it to fit comfortably on the base of the finger. Your ring may be slightly
tighter to remove at night time or when you are hot.
We always recommend visiting us so we can gauge the correct ring size.
If it is not possible to visit us, you may want to visit a local jeweller to determine the correct ring size.
Alternatively, please contact us and we can send you a ring sizer to check your ring size at home.
If your ring needs re-sizing, please contact us on contact@london-victorian-ring.com for the return shipping details or to arrange a resizing appointment.
Our workshop is skilled at re-sizing hand engraved and patterned rings.
In some cases, it is not always possible to re-size your ring depending on the complexity of the design and the size difference.
We recommend double checking your size if you are ordering an engraved or patterned ring.
All hand engraved and patterned rings will incur a charge for re-sizing due to the time and skill needed when working with the patterns.
Should a resize be necessary, please contact us to discuss the options for your ring.
Hand engraved and patterned wedding rings are bespoke order and non-refundable.
Ring sizing typically takes between one to five working days.
Please allow five working days to re-size an engraved ring.
We will advise on the length of time when you visit us or contact us for return shipping details.

Our workshop is highly skilled in re-sizing hand-engraved and patterned rings. However, depending on the design’s complexity and the size difference required, re-sizing may not always be possible.
We recommend double-checking your size before ordering an engraved or patterned ring to ensure the best fit. Due to the time and expertise involved, all hand-engraved and patterned rings will incur a re-sizing charge. If a re-size is needed, please contact us to discuss the available options.
Please note that hand-engraved and patterned wedding rings are bespoke orders and therefore non-refundable.
Jewellery Care
Yes, we provide one complimentary polishing and cleaning service for clients who have purchased both their engagement and wedding rings from us. This ensures your engagement ring sparkles beautifully on your wedding day. Rings can be dropped off in the morning and collected the same day; we recommend booking at least two weeks to arrange a suitable time.
We recommend having your rings professionally cleaned and polished every few years for long-term care. During this service, we inspect the gemstones to ensure they remain securely set.
After the initial complimentary service, we offer cleaning and polishing at a nominal cost of £15 per ring.
We are here to assist you with any accidental damage to jewellery purchased from us. Minor unintentional damage can often be repaired quickly and at a minimal charge. As we make all our rings in-house, all repairs are carried out by our skilled workshop team. It is only by inspecting the jewellery in person that we can assess the necessary repairs and provide an accurate quote, as it’s not possible to determine this from photographs. If required, we can also provide a written quote for your insurers before proceeding with any work. Please contact us by email or telephone if your jewellery item requires repair.
By keeping your jewellery in good condition, you ensure it will retain its lustre and appeal.
We recommend removing jewellery before showering, swimming, cleaning, gardening, playing sports, sleeping or handling harmful chemicals. Chemicals found in everyday substances like hairspray, lotions, cosmetics, or chlorine in swimming pools can permanently corrode the alloys in gold jewellery and damage gemstones. It is always best to remove your jewellery at night before sleep and place it back on after you have got ready.
Storing your jewellery
We recommend storing each piece of jewellery separately to prevent them from scratching or denting each other. The box the item came in, or another jewellery box with individual compartments, can make an excellent place to keep it. Avoid throwing jewellery into a drawer or on top of a chest of drawers, as this can lead to scratches on the metal and gemstones.
Cleaning your jewellery
Your jewellery can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and washing up liquid. The small bristles of the toothbrush will help remove dirt that can accumulate on and under the gemstones. You could use a lukewarm, moist cloth over the metal. Be sure to stop the sink's drain to avoid accidents.
Every few years, you may want your rings professionally polished and cleaned. We offer a professional polishing and cleaning service. Please get in touch with us for more information.
Gemstone care
Diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and aquamarines can be cleaned similarly with a soft toothbrush and a washing liquid.
We recommend taking great care with emeralds. Emeralds are prone to drying out, which can cause the gemstone to crack.
To preserve the condition and shine of your 18ct yellow gold ring, it is best to keep it away from substances like chlorine, which can compromise the integrity of the metal over time. Remove your ring before swimming, cleaning, or applying cosmetics and lotions.
Clean your yellow gold ring regularly with a soft toothbrush and a mild solution of washing-up liquid and warm water. Gently scrub to remove dirt or oils, then rinse and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Store your ring separately in a jewellery box or original packaging to avoid scratches.
Platinum is a durable metal that requires proper care to maintain its pristine appearance.
Regularly clean your platinum ring with warm water, a mild dishwashing liquid, and a soft brush to remove residue. Unlike gold, platinum may develop a natural patina over time, which some wearers appreciate for its unique character.
If you prefer a polished finish, a professional clean and polish every few years will restore its original lustre.
Always store your platinum ring separately to prevent scratching against other pieces.
Diamonds, whether mined or lab-grown, are exceptionally durable, ranking 10 on the Mohs scale as the hardest natural material. Despite their hardness, their settings can be vulnerable to damage or dirt build-up.
Clean your jewellery regularly with a soft toothbrush, warm water, and a mild washing-up liquid to keep diamonds sparkling. Avoid exposure to oils, lotions, or household chemicals, which can tarnish or dull the metal settings.
Periodically inspect the prongs or other settings to ensure the diamond remains secure. To prevent scratches, store diamond jewellery in individual compartments or soft-lined boxes.
Emeralds are cherished for their vivid green tones and unique character. As a relatively softer gemstone, they require delicate handling. Keep emeralds away from harsh chemicals or sudden temperature changes, which can cause damage.
Clean emerald jewellery gently with a soft cloth and lukewarm water, avoiding abrasive materials or ultrasonic cleaning methods, which could exploit natural inclusions within the stone.
For long-term care, emeralds may benefit from occasional professional re-oiling, which helps restore their appearance and maintain their captivating brilliance.
Sapphires are robust gemstones, ranking 9 on the Mohs scale, making them ideal for everyday wear; so to maintain their lustre, gently clean sapphire jewellery with a soft toothbrush, warm water, and a mild soapy solution to remove dirt and oils. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Avoid exposing sapphires to harsh chemicals or abrasive surfaces.
While sapphires are durable enough to be stored with other gemstones, keeping them in a separate compartment will minimise the risk of scratching the surrounding metal or other jewellery.
To maintain brilliance, jewellery should be cleaned at home every few weeks. A soft toothbrush, warm water, and mild detergent are ideal for gently cleaning your ring, focusing on the intricate details of the setting.
To achieve a professional-grade clean, have your rings inspected and polished by a jeweller every 6–12 months. This ensures the stones remain secure and enhances the piece's overall appearance.
Regular cleaning also prevents dirt and oil build-up, keeping gemstones vibrant and settings pristine.
Yes, we offer professional services such as expert cleaning, polishing, and repair services for pieces purchased from us to ensure your jewellery retains its original beauty and integrity over time.
Our experts are here to assist whether you need a ring resized, gemstones re-secured, or a worn piece restored to its former glory.
Our restoration services are carried out with meticulous attention to detail, using techniques and materials that preserve the authenticity and quality of your jewellery.

Insurance
We provide an insurance valuation with all of our pieces, which includes a detailed description, a photograph, details regarding hallmarks, and gemstone specifications if applicable.
Please note that we do not offer insurance ourselves, but we recommend either adding your piece to your home contents insurance as an additional item—please check details with your provider—or contacting a specialist jewellery insurer.
The valuation will be provided upon collection and can be used to set up an insurance policy.
Manufacturing Warranty
Your new item of jewellery should last a lifetime and be a treasured heirloom to pass down through generations of your family.
We are confident in the quality of the workmanship of all jewellery bought from us. Each item goes through a number of vigorous quality checks utilising the highest standard of skill and care.
For peace of mind, we offer a life time warranty for manufacturing faults. If your item is faulty due to a manufacturing defect we will repair or replace the item without charge.
Our warranty excludes excessive wear and tear, physical abuse either accidental or otherwise and loss of gemstones. If the client, another jeweller or third party has altered or re-sized the item the warranty will not apply.
It is advisable to arrange independent insurance for your jewellery to cover loss, theft and damage that is not covered by the warranty.
Your jewellery purchased from us will come with an insurance valuation that you can give to an insurance company, which could be either your household insurance or another specialist jewellery insurance company. Please contact us if you need more information.
Please see the Terms and Conditions for exclusions to the warranty.
